Cadence Biomedical Signs Distribution Agreement with TruMedical Solutions
SEATTLE – Cadence Biomedical, the manufacturers of Kickstart®, announced today that they have entered into a distribution agreement with TruMedical Solutions, LLC, a Tennessee-based manufacturer and distributor of medical products for use in rehabilitation settings. The distribution agreement enables TruMedical to sell Kickstart across the southeastern United States and into national and regional rehabilitation providers. The partnership also allows Cadence to support healthcare providers across the Southeast’s “Stroke Belt,” where the prevalence of stroke is higher than the national average.
Kickstart is a wearable neuro-rehabilitation device designed to accelerate walking recovery and functional improvements following a stroke, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions. The core technology of the product is a patented, bio-inspired Exotendon™ that functions like an artificial tendon to assist users with stability, leg advancement and cues for proper walking.
“In our effort to build our national distribution network for Kickstart, we considered many paths to reaching the critical Southeast market,” said Barry Hix, CEO for Cadence Biomedical. “Our decision to work with TruMedical is based on their professionalism, established history of success and existing partnerships with many of the nation’s foremost rehabilitation providers. We are now positioned to rapidly expand our footprint and, more importantly, improve the support we deliver to clinicians who are transforming lives with a faster recovery to walking.”
“In today’s challenging reimbursement environment, providers are asked to improve outcomes at lower costs,” said Allen Hughes, CEO of TruMedical Solutions. “We view Kickstart as a tremendous value to our customers, and it is an honor to establish this new partnership with Cadence Biomedical. Kickstart’s innovative functional design, ease of use, and clinic-to-home capabilities provide a tremendous tool for our clinical partners to use in helping a large, complex patient group. As we expand our programs for the post-acute care market, we view Kickstart and their talented team as an important part of our growth strategy.”
