The Huntsville Times: Alabama stroke victim walks again with help from new rehab therapy
From the Hunstville Times:
Billy Lemaster had a debilitating stroke in 2010 that left him struggling to walk. About two years later, he suffered another stroke that took his speech and mobility. It was a devastating blow for Lemaster, an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, golf and ride his tractor.
The journey was long and difficult until his daughter learned about Kickstart, a device that mimics the tendons of a horse and uses spring-based technology to enable proper walking. Until this week, the product was not available in Alabama.
Emotions were running high Thursday as Lemaster was fitted for the Kickstart device at A Step Ahead on Bob Wallace Avenue in Huntsville.
"I just hope everybody finds out about it," he said through tears. "I'd like to see everybody with one."
